Dear Participants,
The School of Clinical Medicine and I cordially invite you to join us in a British Sign Language follow-up workshop.
The aim of the first workshop was to introduce you to the world of sign language and generate an interest in it. Amongst the feedback we received from you the one that stood out most was your curiosity and interest to learn more about the BSL. This workshop aims to provide you with that opportunity.
The workshop introduces you to the basics of everyday communication in the BSL. You will learn to initiate a basic conversation, for example, how to greet and introduce yourself to others while using the BSL syntax and asking the questions.
The BSL is about listening to what cannot be heard. It is about experiencing what it is like being a deaf person. It is also about how to better use our body language and our emotions when conveying our messages across. All these skills are essential in our everyday communication and this workshop provides a friendly environment to experience them.
The prerequisite for joining is a basic knowledge of the BSL alphabet and fingerspelling, which you obtained in the earlier workshop.
This session will be held in the School of Clinical Medicine, and is limited to 20 attendees. Attendees are welcome to eat their lunch during the session and refreshments will also be provided.
Join us in the next BSL adventure! https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/british-sign-language-follow-up-workshop-tickets-653024061547?aff=oddtdtcreator
