As well as your induction checklist and personal induction plan to get you up to speed in your new role, your department and the University, there are a number of other Induction events that we encourage you to take part in.
Regius Welcome Event
This event is run on a quarterly basis at the Clinical School by Patrick Maxwell, Regius Professor of Physic and Head of the School of Clinical Medicine to welcome all new joiners to the school. Invites will be sent out via your department HR team and this event is a great opportunity to network with other new joiners, hear from the Regius, Director of Organisational Affairs (Professor Nita Forouhi) and HR.

University Welcome Event
The University run a Welcome to New Staff presentation event on a regular basis, hosted by Personal and Professional Development (PPD). The Welcome event aims to provide a broad introduction to all University staff, providing information about the University to enable you to get the most out of your time here. The event comprises:
- A welcome and introduction to the University from a senior member of the University
- A presentation on the benefits of being part of the University of Cambridge
- A presentation by a senior academic providing an insight into the role of the Colleges and their relationship with the University

Postdoc Welcome Event
The Postdoc Academy runs Welcome Events for all new postdocs – whether your contract is with the University, a Partner Institute or a College.
At these Postdoc Welcome Events, you are given information about the wide range of opportunities and services available within Cambridge – and specifically how they can help you as a postdoc.
There is also an opportunity to talk directly to representatives from these services and to other new postdocs.

New Academic Staff Welcome Event
Academic Life at Cambridge is an academic induction programme for recently appointed University Lecturers, Senior University Lecturers, Readers, Professors and Senior Fellows. A New Academic Staff Welcome Event is held annually in October.
