The University aims to attract, recruit and retain the most talented staff across all areas of academic and professional activity to maintain and enhance its world leading reputation. To support this aim, it is vital that staff have access to up-to-date and relevant information on recruitment practices at the University. There are a number of guidance documents to support recruitment of staff which can be found below.
- The Recruitment Guidance webpages sets out best practice information across all areas of Recruitment activity, from setting up a position through to appointment.
- The Recruitment Policy has been developed to support institutions through the recruitment process. This policy aims to provide the basic framework upon which institutions can build an effective recruitment process, promote equality and diversity principles and best practice, whilst also aiming to ensure that there is consistency across the University within the foundations of the recruitment process.
- It is widely recognised that the ability to attract and recruit a diverse range of employees at all levels is essential to build an inclusive culture. To support the University to deliver on this commitment, this framework has been developed as a source of ideas, information and resources to assist institutions in embedding the principles of diverse recruitment into all selection phases from constructing the advert, through advertising, shortlisting and interviewing. Institutions are encouraged to use the framework to support a more diverse approach to recruitment process.
